Countdown to Summer

Only TEN days left of school,
I’ll be living in my swimming pool,
No more tests and no more books,
Just summer time, eatin’ what Momma cooks.

NINE days left of studying,
Won’t be long now before that last bell rings.
Then it’s sleeping late, playing video games
And no more sitting next to James.

Now there’s just EIGHT days more to go,
It seems to be moving kind of slow,
Summer vacation’s just round the bend,
For lots of time with all of my friends.

SEVEN days, we’re almost there,
No more hassles about what to wear.
Playing outside, all day long,
The radio blasting my favorite songs.

Today it’s down to SIX more days,
I’m sitting here thinking of all the ways
I’ll spend my time, no spelling, no math,
No one asking if I’ve had my bath!

FIVE days, summer’s nearly here,
I’ll be getting out my skateboard gear.
My buddies and I will all hang out
Having all kinds of fun, absolutely no doubt!

In FOUR more days, school is done,
Summer will be so much fun!
Fishing, swimming, at the shore,
Well, maybe Mom will have some chores.

THREE days, only three more days,
Outside soaking up those summer rays!
Skateboarding, paintballing, hiking too!
Summer’s just FULL of so much to do!

Just TWO more days ’till school is done,
Free to play in that summer sun.
The guys and me, doing what we want,
Visit my cousin, go see my aunt.

ONE day, just ONE DAY left of school.
Dad says we’ll make things with his tools.
TEN, NINE, EIGHT….seven, six, five, four, three, two, one,
Look out summer, here I come!

Thanks for checking it out. Seemed like the right time of year for it.
